Undeniable Peace

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

In our world some people tend to go negative, to thrive on misery and sharing that misery with everyone they can. Misery is being in distress, or discomfort in mind and or body. Although they go negative, there is a strong desire to have comfort, and do physically possible to make themselves comfortable. Peace is the most sought after experience, more than power, social status, fame or even money. Peace-is not just the opposite of misery, but the cure for it. Peace is quiet, stillness, tranquility, it is freedom from disturbance. The world tries to achieve peace and peace is mentioned in the KJV of the Bible 429 times. The only way we can find true peace is through Jesus. According to Isaiah 9:6 He is the Prince of Peace!

Through Jesus we have undeniable peace! The greek word means peace of mind. Jesus is giving the disciples His peace. Their world is about to get messy, but in that trouble and mess, He will bring peace.  When Jesus is savior it brings PEACE with God…When Jesus is Lord of our lives it brings the PEACE of God. "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you”. That is Gods promise to us in spite of our circumstances, inspite of the trouble we may have or the storm we may be going through. Jesus is saying to you that in the midst of your storm, your trial, your mess (Even if you made it). He will cause you to be at rest, to be peaceful, tranquil, you will have a peaceful mind and heart. He says, the very same peace that I have… is available to you.

Remember that peace is one of the fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23. If we are genuine followers of Christ, peace is not only available but is fruit of our relationship with him. Peace should be seen and felt by everyone around us.

Philippians 4:6-7

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And thepeaceof God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.  I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord...

Even though we have read or even memorized this scripture we still tend to go to the negative briefly. If we take everything to the Lord first, peace comes sooner. Remember when Jesus walked out to the disciples in the middle of the storm? It scared them because they were not expecting Jesus to meet them in the middle of the storm. Jesus is ready and willing to meet us in the middle of our storms. He wants to give us peace, not like the world gives… peace that only comes from Christ.  "Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful”.Literally meaning stop being fearful! Rest in His grace, His mercy and His peace! He has you in His hand is is not letting go. Don't you let go of Him!

Prayed for you all this morning!

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” —Romans 15:13

Much love and blessings,
