Calvary Belmar has a wonderful family of staff and volunteers who are dedicated to serving their church and community. Our team members are looking forward to connecting with you.
Pastor Scott Morrison has lived in Colorado the majority of his life. He and his wife Pam have been married 30 years and have two grown and married children (and two amazing granddaughters). They have called Lakewood their home for the last 23 years. Scott has been in ministry in the Denver metro area as a youth and associate pastor most of the last 20 years. He attended Colorado Christian University where he received his Bachelors degree in Organizational Management in Christian Leadership and was recently ordained through Calvary Belmar.
His marriage was almost destroyed 24 years ago by his disobedience and pushing God away. But, through God's grace and the body of Christ reaching out, he was able to reconcile with his wife and dedicate his life to serving God at what ever level he was called to. James 4:6 has become his life verse;
"But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, "God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
He and his wife had been attending and serving at Calvary Belmar for over three years when the call came to step up and lead as senior pastor. His heart is to reach our community with the hope of the gospel and with a real life understanding of the power of God's grace. Life and ministry is truly about loving God and loving people.
Jacob loves the art of music. Growing up his dad is a worship pastor in Northern California and Jacob grew up with the understanding that God and music were synonymous.
While in middle school Jacob started to help lead worship for the junior high group and would continue all the way through his high school years. When he turned 16 he started volunteering with his dad and the adult worship team.
Jacob began leading worship for the young adults group at his local church when he was 20 years old. In 2015 Jacob was called to attend Calvary Chapel School of Worship. There he received a deeper spiritual understanding of leading worship and also improve his technical understanding.
Jacob enjoys the outdoors and a good cup of coffee. He loves to be able to help people when they need it and he loves to be a part of community with friends and family.
Jacob’s heart goes farther than just music, his heart is to reach the lost and show them the love and compassion of Jesus. He loves to pour into people and use the gifts that he has been given to further Gods kingdom and bring others into the fold of God.
Jacob and his lovely wife, Tara, live in Lakewood with their puppy Ace.
Administrator & Children's Ministry Coordinator
Kiirsi grew up in Colorado and graduated from Wheat Ridge High School. She became a follower of Christ at 16 years old after watching her best friend live a life of faith. At one point Kiirsi thought that she would try life on her own without God’s direction. This led her to become a single mother and face trials that would nearly break her and eventually bring her back into God’s welcoming arms here at Calvary Belmar.
“I prayed to the Lord, and He answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.” -Psalm 34:4-5
After recommitting her life to follow Jesus, Kiirsi is committed to walking a life that honor’s God. Kiirsi’s daughter Isabella inspired her to become a Sunday school teacher. Kiirsi has loved working with the next generations and has had a mission to make sure that each child understands God’s boundless love for them individually. (Psalm 139)
After serving for two years as a teacher, God moved Kiirsi into the Administrative position for Calvary Belmar as well as the Children’s Ministry Director for children 6 months- 6th grade.
Norrie came to Denver from San Antonio, TX in 2016. He and his beautiful wife, Judy, have attended Calvary Belmar for two years. He serves on the Calvary Belmar board as treasurer, and has a heart and passion for God's word to be taught and proclaimed in a simple and applicable manner. His desire is to teach and disciple men, helping them to not only understand God’s Word, but to be doers as well, and to be Godly men in every aspect of their lives.
KEON & NANCY SHEFFIELD
Keon and Nancy have been led to bring encouragement and hope to our community by opening their home to others and by visiting those who are in need. They made a commitment to God to serve Him whenever and wherever He leads them. The Lord led them to each other through Plenty of Fish (an online connect group) and knew immediately that the Lord had plans for them to do ministry together through hosting and leading small groups, having Singles and Marriage Workshops and visiting others in times of need. They have been married for six years.
Keon is very handy and enjoys remodeling their home along with building things. Nancy enjoys crafting with paper, yarn and fabric...anything with color. They both enjoy decorating their home as well.
GEOFF & CHRISTIN BURKHART
Geoff and Christin made Calvary Chapel home after moving to Colorado in 2014 and began serving almost immediately. Their heart has always been to work with junior and senior high school kids and jumped at the opportunity when the youth ministry was established in 2015.
When they aren't working with the youth, Geoff plays on the worship team and Christin volunteers with media and website design for the church. They also volunteer with Arapahoe and Larimer County Foster Care Systems donating their time and talents to work with at risk youth within the foster care system.
Geoff is a talented musician and Christin enjoys a second career as a photographer. They love traveling the world together on missions trips.
