Hello FAM Team and Happy Friday!

God continues to open doors and guide FAM!  See below for our upcoming events and what we

Be Mine Project through Dream Makers: Now-February 8th

Join us in spreading the love by sending in Valentine’s Day cards from you to youth who have

aged out of foster care! We believe this population of youth is worth remembering and

acknowledging every day of the year – and especially on holidays when it can feel extra lonely

and isolating to be navigating life alone. Please send handmade or purchased Valentine’s Day

cards with written words of hope and encouragement to the address below. Please mail cards by

FEBRUARY 8th.

We will also have a table in the lobby THIS Sunday with cards you can personalize and

sign.

SAVE THE DATE!! Mandatory Trauma Training Sunday, March 5th, 1:30-

3:00pm

Together with Rhonda from Project 1.27 and Britt from Colorado Kids Belong we will be

hosting our annual Trauma Training.  This training is required for all FAM Volunteers and

those who serve in the Children's Ministry.  This training will give general information about

what trauma is and how it can affect children (or adults) as well as provide tools for scenarios

that have or could happen at our church.  If you attended the training last year, it's always a good

refresher as we meet kids from tough places in the lobby, a Kids Night Out or in our Children's

Ministry.  Please plan on attending and share the information with anyone who might be

interested - this is open to anyone in our community.

The kids and our volunteers had a great night of pizza, games, crafts and a movie, while their

foster parents got a much deserved evening off. Thank you to those who served!! This type of

event requires more paperwork and background checks so we appreciate your willingness to go

through extra steps as we ensure these kids have a safe and fun environment to just be kids. 

We are looking at dates for an April Kids Night Out - be on the lookout!

FAM Website

This month we will be focusing on launching the FAM section of our Foothills Calvary website. 

We will have information regarding our community partners, information on how to become a

certified foster or adoptive family, monthly updates, and more.  Thank you for your patience as

we begin to finalize the business side of our ministry. 

We are so thankful to belong to a community that cares about kids in foster care and their foster

or adoptive families.  Thank you for serving with FAM!
