FAM March 2023 Newsletter

 Pray that children in foster care feel safe, loved and a sense of belonging in their foster homes,

schools, churches and community.

 Pray that biological parents have the strength and support they need to heal and do what they

need to do to help their children. Pray that we have compassion for these families.

 Pray for strength, endurance, and peace for foster and adoptive families and that their

community supports them.

 Pray for the caseworkers, judges, lawyers, therapists, teachers and those working to support

kids and families within Jefferson county. May they have the strength, compassion, and wisdom

to do what’s best for these families.

Come join us Sunday, March 5th at 1:30pm along with Project 1.27 and Colorado Kids Belong for a

Trauma Training. It will include general trauma information as well as real world scenarios with tools and

techniques to be used within our church and community. If you serve or plan to serve with FAM or

Children’s Ministry this training is required. Please sign-up online by clicking here if you haven’t done

so already.

During the month of February we have been working on creating a new logo for FAM and making

updates to the FAM section on our Foothills Calvary Church website. Please take a moment to explore the new

FAM website! We will continue to make updates so be sure to check back often. While you are on the

site, be sure to check out the other ministries and events going on.

We will be hosting our quarterly Kids Night Out for kids in foster care or adoptive families. We aim to

host these events once a quarter to give kids a fun evening to just be kids and their families a much-

deserved evening off. For April’s KNO we will be doing a STEM Theme by having several science-themed

stations with dinner and a movie.

We can’t host these events without your help so please consider volunteering. Reminder – all

volunteers need to complete a Servants Application, complete and have a current background check on

file at Foothills Calvary as well as completed Trauma Training. Be on the lookout for volunteer sign-ups

this month.
